01 / The idea

Software that serves
a real purpose.

Loribel Labs is the technical project identity of Gregory Borelli, a software engineer, educator, and entrepreneur.

It brings together hands-on development, experimentation, and a long-standing interest in turning structured information into useful applications.

01

Clarity

Make systems, data, and results easier to understand.

02

Practicality

Focus on real problems and useful outcomes.

03

Reuse

Build foundations that support different workflows and interfaces.

04

Openness

Favor transparent approaches, portable formats, and open source.

05

Human control

Use automation and AI to support understanding and decision-making.

02 / Featured project

A clearer picture of your data.

One active open-source project.
A practical place to start.

Tabalyst

Understand your data
before you build on it.

An open-source Python toolkit for unfamiliar structured data. Discover what a file contains, understand its patterns, and see what needs attention.

Tabalyst Report turns CSV, Excel, JSON, and JSONL files into an interactive HTML report and a structured JSON profile. Analysis runs on your machine.

  • Report

Profile a file with an HTML report and a JSON profile.

  • Scan

Describe the fields of a dataset in structured JSON.

  • Inspect

Find the table or collection that holds the records.

  • Sample

Create a smaller, reproducible sample of a CSV file.

  • Generate

Create synthetic CSV datasets for tests and demos.

  • Dedup

Find exact duplicate rows in a CSV file.

On the roadmap: Tabalyst Explore and Tabalyst Online. Both are coming soon.

03 / The approach

From structure to understanding.
From understanding to action.

Across technologies and generations of software, the same engineering idea keeps coming back: organize information well, then build reliable ways to use it.

  1. 01 / STRUCTURE

    Organize the information.

Define clear data structures and meaningful metadata. Give complexity a shape you can work with.

  2. 02 / UNDERSTAND

    Make the results readable.

Turn machine-readable outputs into interfaces people can inspect, question, and understand.

  3. 03 / ACT

    Build on solid foundations.

Reuse common components, automate repetitive steps, and integrate AI thoughtfully into useful workflows.

The technology matters. So does what people can understand and accomplish with it.

Keep the human in control.
A name with roots in building software.

04 / The story

A technical identity
with a history.

Loribel is an anagram of Borelli. The name goes back to Gregory's earlier software and Web projects, including work with Java, XML, structured data, reusable frameworks, and generated Web experiences.

It reflects a long-running interest in software architecture, experimentation, automation, and the craft of building things that last.

Today, Loribel Labs gives that history a clear home for new technical projects, starting with Tabalyst.
